Tower of Terror

The cart was going so fast I felt like I was going to pass out. The wind pushing against my face held me to the spot. In front of me the blue sky was calm unlike my chest which was shaking like pistons in a speeding car.  The skyscraper tower was like a pin in the sky above me and then it fell backwards as I plummeted down faster than a spacecraft.  I sat there.  It was over.  Two seconds of stillness.  My harness released and it was safe at last to get out.

Deserted Tree

There I was dwarfed next to the enormous deserted tree with its shadow stalking me.

Everything was silent and still I could only hear the

rope rattling against the wood and the trees whistling leaves. I felt a shiver  tingling my whole body and I knew someone walked over my grave. I froze in deep silence.  I tried to think of jubilant thoughts but there was nothing, Nothing to calm my nerves.

I was frightened, alarmed, terrified. What if something happened like the rope spanned and I slammed in to a blackhole?

There I was ready to get my helmet and harness. My helmet was smooth, I felt it crashing on my head. My harness also felt like an alligators’ coarse back. Finally it was my turn. I got up to the top of the deserted tree. All I could see was my life flashing before me. I was forced to sit down in the icy, crisp air. As I was smoothly gliding down the rattling rope I felt a tough pull. I was alarmed that something was wrong. After all that I made it down from the enormous tree.

I was so proud and couldn’t wait for my next turn.

A Snorkelling Adventure

“S.D.”

“Wow… my name is the first to be called out”.

I got into my wet suit. It was very tight and I could barely move. S.M. had to help me. I received my cap, then my snorkel and my flippers. Then I tried to sit down (but I couldn’t).

I waited for the next instruction…We had to go across the rocks and then I got in the water. R, the instructor, helped me get in and swim through the channel.

When we got to Goat Island I looked back to see how far I had come. Next I tried to snorkel by myself but I went and held S.M.’s hand. I saw a big fish, little fish, striped fish and plain fish. Just lots and lots of fish! There were blue moumou.

“Wow! That rock looked like a cat! Cool an Eagle Ray!

Where are all the others? Oh here they are…let’s go S.M…”

Now I had to swim by myself because S.M. had to help someone, I made it back to the beach again. We went back to the place we started from. When I got there I took my flippers off as well as my cap and S.M. helped me out of my wetsuit and I went to my next fun activity.

Well I hoped it would be fun!  By SD

The goosebump creator

The dark night poured over my head as time of the Burma trail crept up the clock, I heard my heart start to race rapidly, the blindfold pressed against my face, and all was pitch black.

I grabbed the rope tightly with my rock hard hands, my firm feet were completely frozen to the ground as I dragged them along the muck covered ground. The snapping of sticks made me jump with fright. The trees rustled in the wind.

Suddenly Mr R went BOO! I screamed in fear, I walked cautiously from then on.  The bottoms of my trousers were oozing with coffee brown mud I felt it drip into my shoes. I felt the end of the goose bump creating Burma trail no more rope. I slid my blindfold off; the night sky was a gigantic gloomy shadow towering over my puny head.

I slumped with lassitude all the way to my snug tent. I slopped into my bed it was a velvet cloud. I slowly drifted to sleep. At least the horror had officially ended.

Abseiling Spook

My mouth dropped open. I was looking up at the sky-high abseiling tower. I could hear my heart beating as fast as a rabbit running away from a lion. The Abseiling tower looked dark and spooky. My head was screaming my arms were aching. What if the rope snapped? What if the wood cracked? These thoughts haunted me as I sat down next to group 10.

‘Next’ Wow Grace actually made it! I started to climb the creaky tower.

It swayed and shook. I tried to stop my hand from shaking as I grabbed the rope. With my other hand I held my harness but it didn’t look very strong. I had to hang like a sloth to stop me from falling. `Let go’ No way! I thought. My hand slipped, I fell! As quick as lightning I was going down head-first! I grabbed as hard as an ape…It worked!! I was going down feet-first really slow. How much longer is it?

At last my feet hit solid ground. I actually made it down the eerie abseiling tower. It felt good, no it felt great! I doubt anybody would have had as great as experience as me.
