About
Welcome to Room 15’s blog site.
We are a class of 26 students aged between 9 and 12 years. We are based in Howick, Auckland, New Zealand.
This is the first Blog site that we have ever written but we are all enjoying the challenge of learning about posting, editing and commenting on each others blogs. We hope you will too!
Work on this blog will be from a variety of experiences that we have had this year.
In February we went on camp and this included a snorkelling excursion to Goat Island, abseiling, kayaking, cooking and beach activities to name a few. A Burma trail was enjoyed by most even if it was a little”scary”!
When considering a unit on “Looking after our world” we spent a marvellous day on Motuihe Island in the Hauraki Gulf and here we were able to assist the Motuihe Trust in collecting seeds from plants on the island, planting native trees and working in their nursery. In years to come we look forward to seeing the trees we planted grow. The excursion to Motuihe resulted in both cameo writing about the experience and report writing about a mythical creature that had been seen on the island. Here student’s imaginations were let free with “wild imaginings”.
As always, free writing is popular with Room 15 and there is always a wide range of topics covered in these sessions…from Cheese burgers to soap operas to plays and of course the…what will I write about today (?)offerings.
So, do enjoy our work; we have had fun producing it and we’d love to know what you think about it.
Mrs H.
